Healthy Vanilla Yoghurt Bowl with Persimmon, Banana, Strawberries, Pomegranate and Chia Seeds

I love eating Yoghurt bowls with fruits, nuts and seeds. Period.

This has got to be the healthiest snack out there. Yoghurt is loaded with protein (which is great for me as a vegetarian) and lots of good bacteria that are helpful for the gut.

Persimmon, strawberries and pomegranate are loaded with vitamin C and anti-oxidants that keep you from aging too fast and delay the onset of age-related as well as chronic diseases. Bananas have lots of potassium and magnesium that can support heart health and help you sleep. No wonder my mum always tells me to eat a banana with milk before I go to bed so that I sleep well.

I prefer to buy plain yoghurt and make it fancy because I honestly do not trust the fruity yoghurts that you find on supermarket shelves. I’m sure they must be adding so much sugar and the fruits of course are simply not fresh. What preservatives do they add to the fruit yoghurts to keep those fruits intact in there for so long? One can only pray.

I hate the word preservatives. Ugh.

So, it’s very simple to create your own yummy fruit yoghurt bowl at home and I bet it’s cheaper than those ready fruit yoghurts.

Easy Vanilla Yoghurt with Persimmon Banana Strawberries Pomegranate and Chia Seeds

Ingredients:

Plain Greek Yoghurt

Half Banana

Half Persimmon

3 Strawberries

Pomegranate Arils for Garnishing

1/2 Tsp Vanilla essence

1 tsp honey/maple syrup ( or any sweetener of your choice)

Chia seeds for sprinkling

Method:

Add your plain yoghurt to a bowl and add the vanilla essence and sweetener (honey/maple syrup etc). Mix.

Cut up your fruit and add on top. I like to make my yoghurt pretty (the added perk of making your own fruit yoghurt at home!) so I make flowers with my fruits 🙂

Sprinkle any seeds you’d like on top such as chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds or hemp seeds.

And you’re done! How easy was that?

Tip:

I also love adding granola/muesli to the bowl for that crunch.

You can add nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pecan nuts or brazil nuts too.
