๐Ÿฉท Ruby Moon Milk for relaxation and calm on hot days ๐Ÿฉท

This Ruby moon milk is a recipe I've created that's inspired from the original Ayurvedic Ashwagandha moon milk for relaxation and calm.

Moon milk has traditionally been used in Ayurveda to help with sleep.

In this Ruby moon milk powder blend, I've used Rose which is calming, Ashwagandha for relaxation and spices which gives it a chai like taste. It also has magnesium glycinate which is really beneficial for a good sleep quality and easing anxiety. 

Normally, it's prepared hot but given the heatwave we are experiencing in the UK, here's a cooling recipe that's delicious and refreshing on a hot summer's evening.

๐Ÿฉท Recipe ๐Ÿฉท

๐Ÿ’– Add 1/2 tsp of this moon milk blend to 1 cup of milk in a pan. Heat on a medium flame until it's just about to boil. Stir so that the blend mixes well within the milk.

๐Ÿฅ› I used coconut milk for this video but I actually prefer oat milk. It tastes better. Traditionally, this is prepared with milk, you can use semi-skimmed milk. Feel free to use your choice of milk.

๐Ÿญ Add sweetener if you like and leave it to cool in the fridge.

๐ŸงŠ You'll need to prepare the ice-cubes beforehand. I used a heart icecube tray and placed some rose petals along with the water in the tray so that the ice hearts have rose petals within them ๐Ÿ˜Š I just like Romanticising life ๐Ÿ’—

Rose is used in both Ayurveda (Indian traditional medicine) and Chinese traditional medicine for cooling and calming effects.

To prepare, add the ice hearts in a glass, pour over the moon milk and enjoy ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿ’ Cherry Chai Chia Pudding with Bourbon Biscuits ๐Ÿซ

So I created this for the first time inspired from the Starbucks Cherry Chai Latte. I thought it was such an interesting combination of flavours.

It tasted like blackforest cake with chai all combined together in one spoonful. Ofcourse the texture was more pudding like because of the chia seeds but nonetheless worth trying!

Recipe:

โ˜• Make masala chai from my loose leaf masala chai blend for that spicy kick

โ˜• Soak 2-3 tbsp of chia seeds in 1 cup of chai and keep in fridge overnight (I would suggest making two portions out of this or consuming it over two days rather than at a go)

๐Ÿ’ Make cherry Compote. Cook some fresh cherries with a little bit of sugar and water until they are soft. (Add vanilla extract if you like)

๐Ÿ’ Cut up some fresh cherries for a little bit of crunch

๐Ÿช Layer up starting with the chai chia pudding, then Compote, then chia pudding and finally garnish with fresh chopped cherries and either bourbon biscuits for a chocolatey taste or Biscoff.

This makes for an indulgent protein rich snack with all the amazing cherries that are now in season ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’ yum ๐Ÿ˜‹ 

You'll need quite a few cherries to make the Compote. It really added a delicious taste to this chia pudding which gave it that blackforest cake like taste.

๐Ÿ’™ Blue Mondays call for a fun colour changing blue iced tea. Meet these new butterfly pea flower & lavender tea bags ๐Ÿ’œ

These beautiful butterfly pea flowers come from Thailand and are super rich in anthocyanins which gives this tea its blue colour. These are the same anthocyanins found in blueberries that may fight oxidative stress which are responsible for premature aging i.e. this tea may be your fountain of youth โ˜บ๏ธ

When a dash of lemon or anything acidic such as citrus fruits are mixed with this blue tea, it turns purple like magic! โœจ 

Butterfly flowers do not have much of a taste, they can be quite bland and earthy. I've added lavender to this tea blend to give it that delicious camphor like taste. Probably best drunk at night for a good night's beauty sleep ๐Ÿ’™

To make this iced tea:

It's still abit chilly but my saga of overnight oats continues. As my favourite month approaches, it's also the month of berries and I absolutely love them.

This chocolate and raspberry overnight oats are so indulgent and like having a dessert for breakfast ๐Ÿซ

Recipe:

50g oats
1 tsp raw cacao 
2 tbsp greek yoghurt 
1/2 cup milk
Handful of raspberries 
Small pieces of Fruit & Nut Dark chocolate (yes, I indulged - atleast it's dark ๐Ÿ˜Š)

Mix all of the above.

Melt some dark chocolate, pour on top. Finish off with a few more raspberries, add blueberries if you fancy and sprinkle some seeds. I used my @betterfoodmood omega mix with 6 seeds - flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds and sesame seeds.

Keep overnight in the fridge and yum yum in the morning. (Also the relief when I wake up in bed the next morning and realise breakfast is ready โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹)
