It's mental health week from tomorrow and so I've created short videos for you showing you how I meditate - which I'll be posting every day starting tomorrow.

Meditation is a slowing down of your mind, letting go and allowing it to find peace. A lot of the time, we struggle with stress or anxiety or depression or lack of focus because we are not giving our mind a rest.

If we give our body a rest when it's tired, don't you think our mind needs rest too?

Our minds naturally fire 1000s of thoughts, even when you are sleeping on a subconscious level. If possible, try to add this to your life for 5-10 mins every morning and see the difference it makes in how you feel.

🌞 A delicious carrot cake porridge for Saturday morning with all the colours, seeds and Goji berries. Not to forget the mushroom cacao for calm after a long week 😌

Recipe:

Porridge 

1/2 grated carrot
50g oats
1/2 banana
1/2 tsp of Better Food Mood's grandma masala chai spice mix (or add cinnamon, ginger, cloves and any other ground spices you'd like)
Water/Your choice of milk as required 

Stove cook for 2-3 minutes until you've reached the right consistency.

Garnish with raspberries, green grapes, blue berries, strawberries and Better Food Mood's Seed & Goji berries mix.

Mushroom Cacao:

Add 1 tsp of Better Food Mood's mushrooms cacao in a mug. Add some hot water and mix. Add your choice of milk and microwave until hot. Add sweetener of your choice.

Alternatively, stove cook this mushroom hot chocolate. Add 1 tsp of Better Food Mood's mushroom hot chocolate in a pan with one cup of milk and simmer until hot. Remove off the flame just before it is about to boil. Add sweetener of choice.

Recipe:

Blend the following;

100g oats
3 tbsp yoghurt 
Milk as required (about 1/2 cup)
1 tsp blue matcha (of course Better Food Mood's blue matcha ☺️)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract 
1 banana 
1 tsp chia seeds

Garnish with:

Yoghurt and make swirls because why notπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ
Raspberries 
Strawberries

When your chai is loved by most Indians walking through the door, you know you've earned the official seal of approval β˜•

Yesterday, I popped up at Quality Foods Hayes to sample my masala chai and Ashwagandha turmeric ginger black pepper tea. I was amazed by the number of people telling me about the benefits of Ashwagandha as I was trying to tell them about it ☺️ Role reversal!

It's just nice to know more people are looking after themselves and taking care of their health naturally. 

I also spoke about the other teas that I do:

For sleep: Rose Chamomile Lavender 
For digestion: Kashmiri Kahwa with saffron 

And my wonderful seeds mix with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, flaxseed and Goji berries which is perfect for sprinkling on porridge or yoghurt snacks.
