Quick and Easy Vegan & Vegetarian Snacks – Avocado Chocolate Spread on Toast

One of the reasons we reach for unhealthy snacks when we are hungry is that they taste good and are ready to eat or can be cooked very fast. Healthy snack options usually take time.

However, one of my favourite healthy snack options barely takes 5 minutes to make and is super tasty. It doubles as a dessert.

This quick and easy snack to make is avocado chocolate spread on wholemeal toast or toast of your choice.

Avocado is super healthy and is a powerhouse of Vitamin E which is great for your skin but it also keeps you full for longer. It does have fats which are healthy fats and which we should be consuming everyday.

I used raw cacao powder. Cacao powder is packed with antioxidants which are also anti-aging. Raw cacao powder also has flavonoids which may help lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to the brain and heart according to WebMD.




1 Wholemeal Seeded Toast Bread

1/4 avocado

1 tsp raw cacao powder

1/2 tsp honey (or maple syrup/other sweetener)

1 tsp milk (or plant based milk)





Toast your slice of bread.

Mash the avocado. Add the cacao powder, milk, honey and mix everything up.

When your bread is toasted, spread the avocado cacao chocolate mix on it.

Garnish with pumpkin or sunflower seeds and fruits such as blueberries or raspberries or strawberries. Enjoy hot!

As you can see, this avocado chocolate spread is super duper easy to make and tastes chocolicious. It does double up as a dessert recipe for those with a sweet tooth 🙂

You can also spread this on pancakes, wraps or waffles.
