What does this turmeric ashwagandha ginger black pepper tea taste like?

This tea has a bitter warm taste. You can add honey / lemon to the tea as well.

 

How should I prepare herbal tea from this loose tea?

Add 1 tbsp of turmeric, ashwagandha, ginger & black pepper loose tea to your teapot and slowly pour boiling water over it. Leave it to steep for 5 minutes. Pour into your cup. Add honey if you would like it sweet. You can also add lemon juice.

For a cold brew: Prepare the tea as above, add to a glass pitcher, cover and store in the fridge overnight. Add ice if you’d like.

 

How much turmeric, ashwagandha, ginger and black pepper tea can I drink in a day?

I would suggest between 1 – 2 cups a day.

 

How to store this turmeric ashwagandha, ginger black pepper loose tea?

Store this tea in a cool, dark cupboard away from direct sunlight or heat (such as your stove) or humidity in an airtight container.

Comes packaged in a 100g zip lock resealable air-tight bag. This will keep your tea fresh for longer and away from any insects.

This green tea doesn’t really expire – it may simply lose its strength over a long time e.g. after 2 years.

As with all foods, it’s always best to try a little bit to start out with (if you’ve never tried it before) to check if you have any side effects.

There are a few instances when you need to be careful when consuming turmeric:

  • If you have iron deficiency anaemia, avoid consuming turmeric in high quantities as it may prevent the absorption of iron
  • Turmeric may increase bile production which may be problematic if you have gallstones or liver disease
  • Turmeric has blood thinning properties, so check with your GP if you take blood thinning drugs
  • Ashwagandha powder in large doses may cause stomach upset, diarrhoea, vomiting.
  • Ashwagandha powder should not be eaten during pregnancy as there is some evidence it may cause miscarriages.
  • Ginger may cause heartburn
  • Ginger may cause burping, diarrhoea and stomach discomfort when taken in high doses
